Agent roles explained
Valorant has four roles, each with a distinct job on the team:
- Duelists — Entry fraggers. They go in first, get picks, and create space.
- Initiators — Info gatherers. They reveal enemy positions and set up the Duelist's entry.
- Controllers — Map control. They block sightlines with smokes and slow pushes.
- Sentinels — Anchors. They hold sites, watch flanks, and deny enemy executes.

Duelist tier list

Hot Hands heals you, Curveball flashes for yourself, and Run It Back gives you a free life. You don't need a team to make plays.
Initiator tier list

Best Initiator for beginners: Sova
Two recon arrows per round, an owl drone for deep info, and a shock dart that denies heals. Simple, effective, always useful.

Three smokes on a map overlay, an incendiary that denies pushes, and a stim beacon that buffs your team. No aim required.
Sentinel tier list
