LoL Worlds 2026
The League of Legends World Championship is the biggest event in the esport, and the 2026 edition is shaping up to be a coronation for the LPL. The four-year Chinese dynasty has won every Worlds since 2022, and the 2026 field looks no different — Bilibili Gaming, Weibo Gaming, and JD Gaming are the three favorites going in.

Riot's production for Worlds is the gold standard for esports broadcasts — multi-language streams, real-time stats, dynamic camera switching, and the cleanest draft overlay in the industry.
Format
The 2026 Worlds uses the same format as 2024 and 2025:
- **Play-In** (Sep 25-28): 8 teams play for 4 spots in the main event. The 4 teams that qualify join the 12 direct seeds.
- **Swiss-system groups** (Sep 29 - Oct 12): 16 teams play 5 rounds of best-of-3 Swiss. Top 8 advance to playoffs.
- **Playoffs** (Oct 15-31): Double-elimination bracket. Quarterfinals are best-of-5, semifinals and finals are best-of-5.
The Swiss-system format replaced the old round-robin in 2022. Every group-stage match is meaningful, and the 3-win / 3-loss elimination is dramatic from the first round.

- **LCK** (4 seeds): Gen.G, T1, KT Rolster, Hanwha Life (TBD)
- **LEC** (3 seeds): G2, MAD Lions, Fnatic
- **LCS** (2 seeds): Team Liquid, + 1 from regional finals
- **PCS / VCS / LLA / CBLOL** (3 seeds): wildcard teams
